Business Planning doesn’t need to be complicated. We use a very simple 1-page planning worksheet with all of our clients, whether they are a one-person operation or whether they are an established business with 50+ staff.

As shown in the video, our planning worksheet is broken down into the following key areas:

  1. The Big Picture. This covers concepts such as Vision, Mission/Purpose, Values and your Points of Difference.
  2. Long Term Goals. Where do you want to be in 3 years and also 12 months? What do you want to achieve, what is your target revenue and profit?
  3. 90 Day Goals. Now that you have an idea of your longer-term goals, what are your immediate priorities and what are the projects that you want complete in the next 90 Days.
  4. 90 Day Plan. Now, what are the activities that you need to focus on each month over the next 3 months to achieve your 90 Days Goals?

We review and update this worksheet with our clients every 90 days. The big picture and longer-term goals don’t change that often, but it is an excellent habit to update your 90 Day Goals and Plan regularly.

You can also include your team in this process. For some of our clients we extend the 90 day section by replicating it for each manager and their department. Take it on board, get into the habit and let us know if you need a hand with anything.
